

Family Prayer
This was our routine every night when I was growing up. Mother would gather the four of us children at my younger brother's bed, where we would kneel before the picture of an angel looking over two children crossing a river on a narrow bridge. We prayed as a family, reciting prayers that we had committed to memory: Our Father, Hail Mary, Angel of God. The routine of these prayers every night became part of the rhythm of our day as the sun would go down. My dad never praye

I didn't realize how powerful the prayers of our children can be. As you probably know I have been praying with our children for snow, and our prayers were answered. People have been asking me now to stop praying for snow, and I tell them that we stopped in December, and yet we continue to be blessed. I am so grateful to all our parishioners for your kind understanding during these last few weeks when we had to cancel some Masses due to poor driving conditions. We don't do it

Well, winter has come. The last week or so has been a challenge for many people as school busses were cancelled, road conditions for driving were too dangerous even for the ploughs to do their job. For the first time this winter season we had to cancel Masses in Tobermory and Lion’s Head as it was just too risky to drive.
