Active Life vs. Spiritual Life
There can be a tension between our spiritual life and our active life. This is why we are often tempted to choose one over the other. This choice is visible in many different ways: working overtime at the cost of going to church, become obsessed with health and neglect prayer life, invest in family relationships and assume that God does not need our attention, etc. All of these ways of choosing the active world over the contemplative or spiritual world are a real temptatio


Summer is Short
The summer is now in full swing, which was most noticeable on my drive to Lion’s Head and Tobermory last weekend. Our mission churches were full, the roads were busy, and the local restaurants and businesses were working overtime. It’s nice to see this influx of people to the beautiful area we call home. Lessons Learned
I learned a valuable lesson on our recent holiday. No, it wasn’t that I should never trust Google Maps to tell me precisely how long it takes to get from point A to point B. I fall for that every time, and will probably continue to do so. And no, it wasn’t that I should give up fighting with my husband and the GPS when I think I know the right way to go.
