Dear Parishioners,
Peace of Christ
This little note comes to you to thank you for your welcome that I have so far experienced in this, our lovely parish and it Missions.
After my arrival here on Wednesday, June 26th my fellow priests, the staff, all the Volunteers and Parishioners have been very good to me and welcomed me with a smile on their faces. As time goes on, I look forward joyfully to meeting you, getting to know you, and working together.
As I mentioned last weekend, unfortunately, I must be away from the Parish for the next six weeks as I travel to meet my family and friends in Kerala, India. I am visiting home after six long years. Moreover, it is a special occasion as my Dad will be turning 100 years on July 19th. That is the reason I take off soon after my arrival here. I look forward to these home-days with excitement.
I am sure many of you are also getting ready for vacation as the schools are closed. Summer vacation is a time to relax, refresh and to have some quality time with your family and friends. No doubt it will supply us with new energy and inner strength. Though some of us take time to ‘recover’ from our holidaying, certainly the time following the vacation will bring us newness and a renewed spirit.
Wherever we go let us keep our hearts and minds open so that good ideas and noble thoughts will come to us from everywhere. Every experience teaches us and enables us to grow and transform our lives. Let these summer sunny days be a time of grace for all of us.
May the good Lord bless you and your family abundantly.
Wishing you an enjoyable summer,
Fr Paul Mathew (Vellimoozhayil)
